The register of officiants is a database containing the names of persons authorized to perform a marriage or civil union. Future spouses can consult this register on line to check that the officiant they have chosen is authorized to perform the ceremony on the scheduled date.
The register of officiants is updated daily and can be queried over a two-year period starting from today’s date; that is, from June 18, 2013 to June 18, 2015.
N.B.: You cannot consult the register to find a potential officiant, but rather to check that the person you have chosen is authorized by the Directeur de l’état civil to perform the marriage or civil union.
The search is done in three steps:
- Enter the officiant’s name
- Enter the date of the ceremony and select the officiant
- Obtain the search result
Enter the officiant’s name
Enter the surname and given name of the officiant you have chosen. Only the hyphen, apostrophe and alphabetic characters can be entered in these boxes. The search will be done phonetically, giving results beyond the exact name you entered.
The information given conforms to the register of officiants of the Directeur de l’état civil as of June 16, 2013. The masculine form is used only to simplify the text and it designates both women and men.
